Hello one and all, welcome to the eighth episode of Movie Requests! This is the series where I ask your favorite stars what movies they think I should check out, and I review said movies for your entertainment! The series was created in honor of Scene Before’s 10th anniversary, and features 15 very special guests, one of whom will be featured in this latest episode.

Today’s special guest is truly one to rule them all. He is best known as Frodo from the “Lord of the Rings” franchise. Some of his other films include “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind,” “Grand Piano,” and “North.” You can also find Wood in TV shows like “Wilfred,” “Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency,” and “Tron: Uprising.” As a lifelong movie fan, Wood holds a special place in my heart, as he voiced Mumble in “Happy Feet,” which is the second feature film I watched in theaters.

Wood’s request is for me to watch the 1998 Danish film “Festen,” or as it is known through its English title, “The Celebration.” The film was part of the Dogme movement, much like another film that has been talked about earlier in this series, “The Idiots,” requested by Bryce Dallas Howard. As a result, the filmmaking techniques for this project are quite simple, but as for the film’s effectiveness, I will leave that as a mystery. Watch the video to find out my official thoughts.
