Hello, and welcome to the ninth episode of “Movie Requests!” This is the series where I take film requests from celebrity guests, I review said suggestions, and find out if our tastes are a match! I would like to remind everyone that these recommendations are given by real people. No fake identities, no AI… This is a special series being done in honor of Scene Before’s tenth anniversary.

So far, this series has mostly been a success. Eight movies have been reviewed so far, and only one has been issued a negative score. Even if the score is disappointing, I am nevertheless thankful to everyone for giving me a look into their cinematic palette. This series has offered me plenty of new experiences, most of which have been fulfilling.

The latest review of the series is being requested by Amy Sedaris! She is an actress and comedian known for television shows including “Strangers with Candy,” “BoJack Horseman,” “At Home with Amy Sedaris,” and “The Mandalorian.” You can also find her in movies including “Elf,” “Puss in Boots,” “Is This Thing On?,” and “Jennifer’s Body.”

As a reminder, Movie Requests is a limited series featuring 15 very special guests. But today’s guest, Amy Sedaris, is extra special, as she happens to be the first of the 15 who agreed to be in the series! In fact, when I recruited her, I was aiming for 10 guests! Not to mention, this series was going to be under a different name entirely. I was going to call this series “The X Files,” as X is the Roman numeral for 10, and it is the tenth anniversary. Regardless of how things ended up, I would like to thank Amy Sedaris for saying, “I’ll do it,” on October 25th, 2025. A Saturday night that will be gloriously remembered as the day I committed myself to doing this series.
